Who is Samuel Little?
Samuel Little is a serial killer who killed three women in California in the late 1980s. He was caught in 2012 and sent to prison. Childhood:
On June 7, 1940, Little was born as Samuel McDowell. Little says that his mother was a prostitute when she was young and that she left him. Little is from Reynolds, Georgia. Authorities think that Little’s mother might have had him while she was in jail. Little was raised in Lorain, Ohio, by his grandmother. Died of Natural Causes:
Even now, most of the victims haven’t been found, and many of them died of natural causes, drug overdoses, or accidents. Little killed people by first knocking them out with a punch and then strangling them to death. Since there were no bullet or knife wounds, it was hard to figure out who did it.

Convictions:
In 2012, Little was found in a homeless shelter in Kentucky. He was taken to Los Angeles to face a drug charge that was still open. Once Little was in custody, his DNA was tested. This showed that he was linked to the deaths of Carol Ilene Elford, Guadalupe Duarte Apodaca, and Audrey Nelson Everett in California between 1987 and 1989.
Guilty of the Murder:
In 2014, a court found him guilty of the murders and gave him a life sentence without the chance to get out. After Little was convicted, the FBI put his information into its Violent Criminal Apprehension Program (ViCAP). The program started to find strong connections between his movements over the years and a number of unsolved murders in 19 states.

Even though little doesn’t always remember the right dates or what his victims were wearing when they were killed, he seems to have a very good memory for other things. “He can tell you where he was and what kind of car he was driving. “Many of the women he killed are drawn by him,” the FBI says.
Prison in California:
In 2018, little was in a prison in California. While he was there, Texas Ranger James Holland went to see him to try to find out who killed Denise Brothers in Odessa, Texas, in 1994. Little eventually admitted to the murder and many others in order to get out of the L.A. County prison. Holland gave little art supplies when he found out little could draw well so he could draw his victims.

Since then, little has made portraits of his victims that are so accurate that the FBI is using them to try to solve dozens of cold cases. “I now live in my head. With my [victims] babies. Little was with a woman named Jean for a long time. Jean has since died. She stole from stores to help pay for them. Little is in a wheelchair now because his health is so bad. He also has heart problems and diabetes.
